LISTEN 2025: One Unforgettable Night
The PLUS ME community gathered for LISTEN 2025 on Saturday, February 1, to witness five scholarship recipients take the stage. LISTEN 2024 Scholarship alumnus Williams Lopez Aguilar opened the night, reflecting on his experience at last year’s event and how it shaped his journey.
Each My Story Matters LISTEN Scholarship recipient then stepped into the spotlight to share stories of resilience. We laughed, cried, and listened in awe of their powerful voices.
Afterward, each storyteller received their $1,000 scholarships, certificates, and a special recognition from Mayor Karen Bass’s office. KTLA’s Megan Telles led a panel discussion, and the conversation deepened as audience members not only asked questions, but shared how they were moved, how these stories resonated with their own, and what it meant to witness their courage.
