Accomplishments: The Things To Be Proud Of

Our lives are comprised of more than just our struggles, let’s not forget about what we have accomplished! When people think of an accomplishment, they tend to think of something big. For example: I earned my college degree, I own a business, or I bought a new car. All of those accomplishments are great and should be recognized. However, at PLUS ME we encourage our students to acknowledge those accomplishments that tend to get ignored. For example: I got a B- on my science test and I thought I was going to fail, I managed to control my anger when someone said something I didn’t like, or I turned in all my homework assignments for every subject on time this month. We want you to reflect on all the steps you’ve taken to get this far. Even an inch of progress is still progress and deserves to be celebrated.

Moving Forward:

  •  Celebrate your progress by enjoying a favorite activity  (i.e. a movie, nice dinner, etc).

  •  Set 3 new goals to accomplish during this time of quarantine. Make sure the goals are specific and have a clear end date.

  • Get a jar and everytime you accomplish something write it down on a strip of paper and place it inside your jar. On the days when you’re feeling down, open the jar and reflect on how far you’ve come.
